Management Applications, Inc., a recognized leader in Network Management, Design, and Implementation, is seeking experienced Technical Writers for a long-term contract with the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
The mission of the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is significant—it aims to foster industrial and technical progress while strengthening the national economy by administering laws and regulations concerning United States patents and trademarks. The USPTO accomplishes its mission through various functions, including examining patent and trademark applications, issuing patents, registering trademarks, and disseminating vital patent and trademark information to the public. Boasting a workforce of over twelve thousand (12,000) Federal employees and approximately two hundred fifty (250) regional employees, the agency comprises two main components—patent and trademark organizations—supported by diverse business units of engineers, scientists, attorneys, analysts, and IT specialists.
Role Requirements
Senior Technical Writer
Proven experience in technical writing, documentation standardization, technical reviews, and crafting user guides or other instructional content.
Principal Technical Writer
Advanced experience similar to the Senior Technical Writer role, with added responsibilities in supervising and mentoring where necessary.

Successful candidates will demonstrate:
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, honed through customer service experience.
- The ability to establish professional rapport with customers, actively listen to gather required information, and see things from multiple perspectives.
- Clarity in expressing complex technical matters in straightforward language, making information accessible to non-technical individuals.
- Strong administrative and project management skills, utilizing Microsoft Project Professional for project management and Microsoft SharePoint for documentation control and versioning.
