About
The Test Stand Operations team procures, modernizes, and operates engine and component test stands for the testing of conventional and alternative aircraft engines. A growing number of test stands and electrical subsystems require a higher degree of digitalization. As an IT specialist, you will be responsible for the stable, secure operation of data acquisition, measurement, and automation systems and will further develop the test stand IT together with an experienced team.
Responsibilities
- Operation, administration, and continuous improvement of test stand IT (e.g., Windows/AD, Linux, patch/update management, monitoring, backup/restore)
- Installation, configuration, and integration of data acquisition, measurement, and automation systems into the corporate IT
- Network and security integration of the test systems (e.g., segmentation, 802.1X, firewall/access concepts) in close coordination with central IT
- Commissioning, testing/validation, and error analysis of IT systems before the start of experiments, as well as on-site support during ongoing test stand operations
- Recording and evaluation of requirements from test stand users, including the implementation of solutions with internal developers and external suppliers
- Documentation & Processes: Creation and further development of system overviews, operating manuals, and maintenance, obsolescence, and security concepts
- Participation in modernization and digitalization projects
Qualifications
- Completed studies in IT or electrical/automation environment or comparable training with relevant professional experience
- Several years of experience in IT operations or system administration (Windows Client/Server, Active Directory Management, Hardware/Software Rollout)
- Good knowledge of network technology (TCP/IP, VLANs, Firewall) and IT security (hardening, access concepts, patch management)
- Experience in integrating complex systems in heterogeneous IT infrastructures; interface between OT/test facility and corporate IT
- Experience in IT project work and requirements management; coordination of internal/external suppliers
- Knowledge of measurement, data acquisition, and automation systems in the test stand/laboratory environment is an advantage
- Basic knowledge of virtualization, database system administration, backup, monitoring, and user management is advantageous
- Systematic, analytical working style with strong skills in error analysis and troubleshooting – even under time pressure
- Hands-on mentality, assertiveness, and strong team and communication skills – as a technical contact person for colleagues and test stand engineers
