Junior IT Technical Writer

About the Role

We’re looking for a Junior IT Technical Writer to join our technology team and help create clear, accurate, and engaging documentation for our IT systems, software, processes, and emerging AI-related solutions. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented communicator who enjoys transforming complex technical information into user-friendly content while gaining hands-on experience with modern technologies, including Artificial Intelligence tools and platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain high-quality technical documentation, including user guides, knowledge base articles, standard operating procedures (SOPs), FAQs, release notes, and AI process documentation.
• Collaborate closely with IT engineers, system administrators, developers, and project managers to gather information and ensure documentation accuracy.
• Support documentation efforts related to AI-enabled tools, automation workflows, or chatbot solutions.
• Edit and update existing materials to reflect new features, updates, process changes, or AI integrations.
• Assist in documenting internal AI best practices, prompts, workflows, and technical procedures.
• Support internal and external communication efforts, ensuring consistent terminology and style across all technical content.
• Contribute to improving documentation standards, templates, and best practices.
• Participate in peer reviews to ensure content clarity and technical correctness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
• 1–2 years of experience in technical writing, preferably within an IT or software development environment.
• Basic exposure to Artificial Intelligence tools, automation platforms, or AI-assisted content/documentation workflows.
• Familiarity with IT infrastructure concepts such as servers, networks, cloud services, cybersecurity, or AI technologies.
• Basic understanding of documentation tools such as Confluence, SharePoint, Markdown, or Microsoft Word/Visio.
• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with excellent attention to detail and clarity.
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies and communicate them clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice to Have

• Exposure to Agile or ITIL environments.
• Experience with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Gemini, or similar platforms.
• Experience with diagramming tools (e.g., Lucidchart, Draw.io, Visio).
• Knowledge of HTML, Markdown, or Git-based documentation systems.
• Basic understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
