Role: Java Backend Payment Merchant

Location: NYC, NY - Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java and Spring Boot. • Build and support microservices-based architectures deployed on Kubernetes (K8s). • Develop RESTful APIs and integrate enterprise applications and third-party services. • Implement caching solutions using Redis and Memcache for high-performance applications. • Design and deploy cloud-native applications on AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform environments. • Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated build, testing, and deployment processes. • Monitor application performance, troubleshoot production issues, and optimize system reliability. • Ensure application security, scalability, availability, and resiliency best practices. • Collaborate with DevOps, QA, Product Owners, and other engineering teams throughout the SDLC. • Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical documentation. • Follow Agile/Scrum methodologies and DevOps practices for continuous delivery.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of experience in Java Backend Development. • Strong hands-on expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices Architecture. • Experience with Kubernetes (K8s) and containerization technologies like Docker. • Strong experience with Redis and Memcache. • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform. • Expertise in REST APIs, API Gateway, and backend integrations. • Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar tools. • Strong understanding of DevOps principles and cloud deployment strategies. • Experience with messaging systems such as Kafka or RabbitMQ. • Proficiency in SQL/NoSQL databases. • Familiarity with monitoring/logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Splunk, or Datadog. • Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Helm). • Knowledge of service mesh technologies like Istio. • Experience with security best practices, OAuth2, JWT, and authentication frameworks. • Exposure to high-availability and distributed systems architecture. • Certifications in AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform or Kubernetes are a plus.
