About
As a Java Developer, you will support a DevOps focused team by designing, developing, and maintaining RESTful APIs and backend services in a modern, cloud native environment. You will collaborate closely with developers, testers, analysts, and scrum team members to deliver secure, scalable, and automated solutions while contributing to CI/CD pipelines and continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain RESTful service APIs using Java.
- Develop and manage backend components that integrate with relational databases and enterprise systems.
- Build and maintain projects using Maven for dependency and build management.
- Support CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins or Tekton.
- Deploy and manage applications on Red Hat platforms including OpenShift and related middleware.
- Integrate and support API management and gateway solutions.
- Collaborate within Agile teams, actively participating in ceremonies and technical discussions.
- Contribute to source control workflows using Git based repositories.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues across development, testing, and deployment environments.
- Document technical solutions and processes using collaboration tools.
- Propose innovative solutions that improve automation, performance, and reliability.
- Communicate effectively with technical and non‑technical stakeholders in a remote and hybrid work setting.
Requirements
- Strong experience developing applications using Java.
- Solid experience working with relational database management systems.
- Hands‑on experience with Maven for build and dependency management.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or Tekton.
- Experience working with Red Hat platforms including OpenShift and related middleware.
- Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs.
- Proficiency with Git‑based version control systems.
- Experience working in containerized environments using Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with Agile development practices and service‑oriented architectures.
- Experience using issue tracking and documentation tools.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in distributed teams.
- Ability to work independently while contributing as a collaborative team member.
Compensation
The hourly range for roles of this nature is $40.00 to $80.00/hr. Rates are heavily dependent on skills, experience, location, and industry.
