Java Developer

Metrica USA, part of the Metrica Consulting Group, is looking for a hands-on Java Developer to join a long-term project within a highly regulated financial environment.

This role has a strong focus on backend development, ideal for candidates who enjoy building robust enterprise solutions, integrating systems, and collaborating with frontend and cross-functional teams.

Requirements

Must have:

• Strong experience as a Java Developer using Java 8+ and enterprise frameworks such as Spring / Spring Boot.
• Hands-on coding and troubleshooting mindset.
• Solid understanding of REST APIs and microservices architecture.
• Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• Experience with version control tools such as Git.
• Good communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts clearly.

Nice to have:

• Experience with frontend technologies such as Angular or React.
• Experience in the banking or financial services sector.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Urbancode).
• Experience with AWS services (S3, SQS, SSM, KMS).
• Knowledge of messaging systems such as Kafka or MQ.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Design, build, and integrate REST APIs and enterprise services.
• Troubleshoot and resolve backend-related issues in production and non-production environments.
• Work with SQL databases for development, data validation, and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with frontend teams to integrate APIs and deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Participate in CI/CD pipelines and deployment activities.
• Ensure code quality, security, and compliance in a highly regulated environment.
• Work effectively in an enterprise, banking-focused ecosystem.
