Akkodis is seeking a Java Developer - Backend role is a Full Time with a client located in Philadelphia PA 19154, Ideally looking for applicants to have a solid background in Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, ecommerce platforms . would come as a big plus.

Salary Range: $95k-$100k/Annum + Benefits, The salary may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

We are seeking an experienced Backend Java Developer with hands-on experience building and maintaining enterprise ecommerce platforms. This role focuses on server-side commerce architecture — including catalog, pricing, order lifecycle, integrations, and high-volume transactional services.

This is not a general web development role. We are looking for someone who understands how large-scale ecommerce systems function and has real-world experience supporting backend commerce workflows.

You will work on an enterprise ecommerce environment similar to Intershop, collaborating with cross-functional teams to design scalable backend services, integrate external systems, and support mission-critical commerce operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Java-based backend services supporting ecommerce workflows
• Build and optimize REST APIs for catalog, pricing, checkout, and order processing
• Integrate commerce systems with ERP, payment gateways, inventory, and external platforms
• Support high-volume transactional systems with performance and scalability in mind
• Collaborate with frontend teams and platform engineers to ensure seamless commerce functionality
• Troubleshoot and improve backend architecture in production environments
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and system design decisions

Required Experience

• 2–5+ years professional backend Java development
• Hands-on experience working on enterprise ecommerce platforms, such as:
  • Intershop
  • SAP Hybris / SAP Commerce
  • Oracle Commerce
  • WebSphere Commerce
  • Magento backend integrations
  • Custom enterprise commerce platforms
• Strong experience with Java + Spring/Spring Boot
• Building RESTful services supporting commerce workflows
• Experience with relational databases and transactional systems
• Understanding of ecommerce concepts:
  • product/catalog models
  • pricing/promotions
  • order lifecycle
  • checkout/payment flows
  • inventory or ERP integration
• Experience working in production, team-based environments
