Java Application Support Engineer

Robert Half is currently seeking a Java Application Support Engineer for a contract opportunity supporting a client experiencing critical license and production issues within a legacy Java-based application. This position is a temporary contract assignment that is onsite in Vancouver, WA.

• Duration: 2-3 day assignment with possible extension
• Location: Onsite in Vancouver, WA
• Schedule: Part time, a few hours each day, client open to scoping.
• Pay: $60-65/hourly

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve production issues in a Java-based application deployed as a JAR file
• Identify and remediate SSL certificate-related failures impacting secure connectivity
• Validate and correct Java runtime (JRE/JDK) configurations across environments
• Rebuild or regenerate application artifacts using Eclipse or equivalent tooling as needed
• Support deployment and troubleshooting across multiple Linux environments
• Ensure application stability and restore production functionality
• Document findings and contribute to a sustainable support and ownership model

Requirements

• Strong experience with Java application support and troubleshooting
• Experience working with JAR-based applications and Java build/deployment processes
• Knowledge of SSL/TLS certificates and related configuration issues
• Experience with Eclipse or similar Java IDEs
• Strong working knowledge of Linux operating systems and troubleshooting
• Ability to diagnose environment-related application issues in production settings
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in high-pressure production environments
