These exciting areas await your engineering skills: The Service Center as the most important point of contact with our customers, and the Claims Processing department, where we process up to 100,000 claims per day with the best performance system in the industry.

Your Daily Life

• At the core: You will be involved in the further development of complex and modern software in the environment of our core systems and develop high-quality Java EE applications.
• Your developer heart will be in the right place: We rely on modern technologies such as Jakarta EE, Angular, event- and workflow-based architectures, OpenLiberty, Quarkus, Cucumber, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• You will support the team in developing demanding and architecturally compliant solution variants, evaluate new solution approaches prototypically, and ensure quality through automated tests and code reviews.
• You build it, you run it! As a DevOps and Scrum team member, you are responsible for the software, from conception to operation.
• Stay up-to-date: You use modern software engineering practices such as Clean Code, Clean Architecture (Onion Architecture), TDD, BDD, and DDD and are part of an Agile Release Train that works according to the Lean-Agile mindset of SAFe.
• You have the opportunity to learn from experienced colleagues and make a significant contribution to many important business projects at CSS.

What You Bring

• First things first: You have at least 5 years of experience in agile software development with current Java technologies and enjoy complex tasks in the Java EE and Jakarta EE environment. You are familiar with one or more of these technologies: Java, Event- and Workflow-Driven, Docker, Kubernetes, Cucumber, REST interfaces.
• Your passion lies in backend development, and at the same time, you are open to new technologies and frameworks. Experience with Angular is a plus but not a must.
• A degree in computer science or a related field of software development – whether traditional or with detours, we are open to your individual career path.
• You bring old things into shape instead of avoiding them and have experience refactoring legacy applications.
• High software quality is a matter of course for you – your code is well-thought-out, clean, and sustainable.
• You always keep your knowledge up-to-date technologically and methodologically, enjoy networking, and share your know-how within the team.
