Java Technical Lead

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Java Technical Lead to drive the architecture, development, and delivery of high‑performance applications within a financial services environment. This role blends hands‑on engineering with technical leadership, guiding a team of developers while contributing directly to mission‑critical codebases.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of software engineers through the full development lifecycle.
• Architect, design, and build scalable, enterprise‑grade applications using modern Java technologies.
• Write high‑quality, maintainable code and step in as a primary contributor when needed.
• Collaborate with product, architecture, and business teams to define technical requirements and deliver robust solutions.
• Implement engineering best practices, including code reviews, testing strategies, and performance optimization.
• Utilize Claude.ai AI to enhance development workflows and improve engineering efficiency.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and ensure system reliability, security, and scalability.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong expertise in Core Java and the Spring framework.
• Hands‑on experience developing front‑end applications with React.
• Experience using Claude.ai AI to support coding and development tasks.
• Proven experience leading a team of engineers in an enterprise environment.
• Ability to produce high‑quality code and contribute directly when needed.
• Financial services industry experience is required.
• Must be able to work on W2. No sponsorship, C2C, CTH, or third‑party sub‑vendors.
