Construction Manager (Engineering)

Job Summary

Pirotti Group is seeking a highly accountable and results-oriented Construction Manager with a strong engineering background to lead and control all on-site construction activities. This role requires full ownership of project delivery, including timelines, quality, cost control, and workforce management.

The ideal candidate must have solid technical expertise, including knowledge of structural designs and drawings, and the ability to enforce discipline, eliminate delays, and ensure high-quality execution across all projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of construction project execution from start to completion.
• Interpret and implement architectural and structural designs and drawings accurately.
• Lead and manage all on-site personnel, including engineers, supervisors, artisans, and subcontractors.
• Enforce strict adherence to timelines, quality standards, and safety regulations.
• Develop and monitor project schedules, ensuring milestones are achieved.
• Identify risks early and implement corrective actions to prevent delays.
• Ensure efficient use of materials and prevent wastage or misuse.
• Conduct regular site inspections and enforce quality control measures.
• Provide timely and accurate progress reports to management.
• Collaborate with consultants, architects, and quantity surveyors to ensure alignment.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering discipline (mandatory).
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in construction or real estate development.
• Strong knowledge of structural designs and drawings (essential).
• Proven track record of delivering projects on schedule and within budget.
• Strong leadership and workforce management experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant engineering tools.
• Sound understanding of Nigerian building regulations and construction standards.

1. Project Delivery (Timeline Adherence)

• ≥90% of project milestones achieved on schedule
• Zero avoidable delays due to poor planning or supervision

2. Quality Control

• ≤5% rework rate on all construction activities
• 100% compliance with approved drawings and specifications

3. Cost & Resource Management

• Material wastage kept below 3–5% of allocated quantities
• No unauthorized or unaccounted material usage

4. Site Management & Workforce Control

• Effective supervision of artisans and subcontractors (measured by productivity output)
• Zero tolerance for indiscipline or unmanaged workforce issues

5. Reporting & Communication

• Weekly progress reports submitted on time (100% compliance)
• Accurate tracking of site activities, issues, and resolutions

6. Health, Safety & Compliance

• Zero major safety violations or incidents
• Full compliance with safety standards and regulations
