About the role
ABOUT THE ROLE
Our client is seeking two Junior Developer professionals to join a collaborative team focused on building and maintaining robust data pipelines and ingestion processes using Amazon technologies and T-SQL/ETL tools. In this role, you will be fully engaged in the software development life cycle, including user acceptance testing, and will benefit from strong mentorship provided by senior engineers. WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Develop and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, and scripts to support data processing and reporting needs.
- Assist in building and managing ETL workflows using SSIS for data integration and transformation.
- Participate in designing and implementing data models, including star schema structures for data warehousing.
- Ensure data quality and accuracy during ingestion, transformation, and loading processes.
- Follow the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process for all development activities, including user acceptance and unit testing.
- Perform unit testing to validate data transformations and ensure accuracy.
- Collaborate with team members across a range of skillsets and experiences to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Use JIRA for ticketing, task tracking, and project management.
- Support data visualization and reporting using tools such as Tableau and Oracle BI (OBI).
- Document data flows, transformations, and business rules for transparency and ongoing maintenance.
- Learn and apply best practices for data governance, privacy, and compliance.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- 0-2 years of experience in SQL development and relational database management.
- Familiarity with SSIS, ETL concepts, and data warehousing principles.
- Exposure to Tableau, Oracle BI (OBI), or similar business intelligence tools.
- Understanding of basic data modeling concepts, such as star schema design.
- Knowledge and experience with SDLC processes, including user acceptance and unit testing.
- Experience using JIRA or similar tools for ticketing and workflow management.
- Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively within a diverse team.
- Motivation to learn and grow in AWS data engineering and best practices for data governance and compliance.
