Position Overview

  • Junior IT Specialist with a strong background in GIS technologies (ESRI ArcGIS and Schneider Electric ArcFM) to join our growing utility systems team.
  • This role is ideal for a seasoned GIS professional with at least 5 years of hands‑on experience supporting Esri‑based GIS platforms including ArcMap, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcFM.
  • You will play a critical role in ensuring the stability, responsiveness, and scalability of our GIS platforms that support essential electric and gas utility operations.
  • Self‑managing, solution‑oriented, and thrives in dynamic environments where innovation and reliability go hand in hand.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design, maintenance, and optimization of enterprise GIS platforms, including ArcMap, ArcFM, ArcGIS Server, and ArcGIS Pro.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including developers, DBAs, and infrastructure engineers to deliver reliable, high‑performing GIS applications.
  • Tune system performance across layers (application, database, server) and troubleshoot complex GIS issues impacting end‑user experience.
  • Drive the development of custom GIS solutions and tools to support utility workflows and improve operational efficiency.
  • Manage upgrades, patches, and enhancements to GIS software and servers, ensuring minimal impact to operations.
  • Document solutions, testing methodologies, outage recovery plans, and support procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, GIS, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in GIS system support and engineering, preferably in utility (electric/gas/water) environments.
  • Expertise in ArcFM, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcMap, and related Esri technologies.
  • Proficient in scripting languages such as Python (ArcPy) for automation and testing.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical topics to stakeholders.
  • Experience working with Agile teams and managing workload with minimal supervision.
  • Technical Skills: ArcGIS, ArcGIS Portal, ESRI ArcCatalog, ESRI ArcGIS, ESRI ArcGIS Suite, Schneider Electric ArcFM

Pay Rate

$60.00‑$70.00/Hour
