Our client is a well-established international trading business based in the heart of the Stellenbosch Winelands. They're looking for a sharp, detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join their finance team and grow with the business.

What you'll be doing

You'll support the broader finance function across a range of responsibilities, including:

• Cash and balance sheet reconciliations
• Intercompany accounting and clearing open items
• Month-end close activities — accruals, prepayments, and variance analysis
• Maintaining the fixed assets register
• Supporting statutory, regulatory, and audit requirements
• Maintaining master data across finance and operational systems
• Contributing to process improvements and compliance frameworks

What you'll need

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• 1–2 years' experience in an accounting role
• Strong Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office 365
• Familiarity with an ERP system (PeopleSoft or similar is a plus)
• Solid numerical and analytical ability with high attention to detail
• The ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines without dropping the ball

Bonus points for

• Experience in a multi-currency environment
• Exposure to Power BI or process automation tools
