Our client is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Junior AI Developer to join their growing Machine Learning Operations (MLOps) team. This internship position is based at our office in Burnaby, British Columbia, CA and offers an exceptional learning opportunity for aspiring AI professionals. You will work closely with experienced engineers and data scientists to support the deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of machine learning models in production environments. This role requires a foundational understanding of AI concepts, strong programming skills, and a keen interest in operationalizing machine learning.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the deployment of machine learning models into production systems.
- Monitor the performance and health of deployed models, identifying and reporting any issues.
- Support the automation of MLOps pipelines, including data preprocessing, model training, and evaluation.
- Help manage and maintain ML infrastructure and tools.
- Collaborate with data scientists to troubleshoot model-related issues and implement improvements.
- Learn and apply best practices in software development, version control (e.g., Git), and CI/CD pipelines.
- Contribute to the documentation of MLOps processes and procedures.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to brainstorming sessions for new MLOps solutions.
- Gain hands-on experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Support the development of tools and scripts to streamline ML workflows.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
- Solid programming skills in Python.
- Basic understanding of machine learning concepts and algorithms.
- Familiarity with ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn is a plus.
- Interest in MLOps principles and practices.
- Basic knowledge of cloud computing services (AWS, Azure, GCP) is beneficial.
- Experience with version control systems like Git.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Must be eligible to work in Canada for the duration of the internship.
