Junior Assistent Accountant Audit – BDO Alkmaar
Start: September 2026

Support audit and accounting teams by preparing documentation, assisting with financial checks, and ensuring accurate reporting in line with internal procedures and compliance requirements. You will also interview clients and draft process descriptions, work on audit assignments, and follow a part‑time study.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and executing audit fieldwork under supervision.
  • Prepare and organize audit files, working papers, and supporting documentation.
  • Perform basic testing of transactions, balances, and internal controls.
  • Help reconcile accounts and review financial records for accuracy and completeness.
  • Collect, validate, and summarize client data for audit and reporting needs.
  • Support preparation of audit reports, notes, and follow‑up items.
  • Coordinate with team members and clients to request information and track deliverables.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to quality standards, timelines, and compliance policies.
  • Process work:
    • Interview clients and draft process descriptions based on those interviews.
    • Work on control assignments from start to finish.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and auditing concepts.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets and accounting/audit tools; strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow procedures, document work clearly, and meet deadlines.
  • Good communication skills and a collaborative, professional approach.
  • Education: Pursuing or recently completed a degree/diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • (Almost) completed VWO education or HBO propedeuse.
  • Ambition to become a Register Accountant (RA).
