Junior Bookkeeper (E-commerce & Cloud Accounting)

Role Overview

We are seeking a technically disciplined Junior Bookkeeper to manage the financial records of a global e-commerce portfolio. This is a high-volume, execution-focused role designed for a professional who thrives in a structured, digital-first environment.

Core Responsibilities

• Daily Ledger Maintenance: Execute all routine entries for UK and USA-based entities with total accuracy.
• High-Volume Reconciliations: Perform daily matching of bank accounts and merchant gateways like Amazon, Shopify, Stripe, and PayPal within Xero.
• Workforce Implementation: Follow the specific client-by-client instructions provided by senior staff regarding sales mapping and inventory methods.
• Documentation Management: Identify transactions missing paperwork, compile them into our standardized tracking files, and manage the client response loop.
• Proactive Follow-ups: Maintain a consistent schedule of reaching out to clients for missing invoices and marketplace reports to ensure files are always current.
• Task Transparency: Provide real-time updates on work progress within our project management system, ensuring all actions are logged and timed.

Requirements & Skills

• Experience: Minimum 3 years in a bookkeeping role, with at least 1 year of experience managing multiple different clients simultaneously in an accounting office.
• Qualification: A degree in Accounting or Finance, or a recognized professional bookkeeping certification.
• Software Mastery: Advanced hands-on experience using Xero for complex reconciliations and bank rules.
• E-commerce Knowledge: An understanding of how online sales platforms integrate with accounting software and how to handle merchant clearing accounts.
• Attention to Detail: A forensic approach to data entry and the ability to spot discrepancies in large datasets.
