The Position
As a Commercial Analyst (m/f/d), you will support the company's front desk and report to the Commercial Manager Germany. In this entry-level position, you will build a broad understanding of the energy market, from refining and blending biofuels to trading and commerce. As a Commercial Analyst, your specific focus will be on Germany, one of Europe's largest and most dynamic domestic markets. In addition to market knowledge, you will gain a deep understanding of business processes, preparing you optimally for your future career. The Commercial Analyst position is an important entry-level role that allows talents to immerse themselves in a PnL-oriented environment and develop core analytical skills. This will optimally prepare you for future career steps, for example in the Trading Desk or Finance.
Your Key Responsibilities
- You will calculate, analyze, and communicate the company's daily price risks.
- In coordination with our traders and the Derivatives Hedging desk, you will discuss and monitor hedging strategies.
- You will create daily market KPIs and profitability reports and discuss traders' positions and market movements based on the key figures.
- You will prepare reports, business case calculations, and market analyses for our traders and management, up to the Executive Board and shareholders of the company.
- You will maintain data and complex pricing formulas in the ERP and ETRM systems, thereby supporting the smooth running of commercial processes.
- You will be the point of contact for ICT topics for the business, regarding the further development of ERP & ETRM systems, business intelligence reports, and the development of further analysis tools.
Your Profile
- You have an excellent academic background with a focus on engineering, finance, or economics.
- You are already familiar with or interested in derivatives and hedging techniques. You also want to build a clear understanding of valuation concepts and the basic principles of trading.
- You already have initial experience in a commercial or analytical role, where you have demonstrated your strong quantitative and analytical skills.
- Fluent German and English skills, both written and spoken, complete your profile.
