Our client, a prominent civil engineering consultancy firm, is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Junior Civil Engineer to join their team in Gombe, Gombe, NG. This internship offers an exceptional opportunity for a recent graduate to gain practical, hands‑on experience in a professional engineering environment. You will work closely with experienced engineers on a variety of infrastructure projects, contributing to design, planning, and execution phases. Responsibilities
- Assist senior engineers in the design and development of civil engineering projects, such as roads, buildings, and drainage systems.
- Perform basic engineering calculations and analysis under the guidance of experienced professionals.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to gather data, monitor progress, and assist with quality control.
- Prepare technical drawings, reports, and documentation using CAD software and other engineering tools.
- Support the project management team by assisting with scheduling, resource allocation, and progress tracking.
- Learn and apply relevant engineering codes, standards, and best practices.
- Collaborate effectively with team members on various project tasks.
- Assist in the preparation of tender documents and contract administration.
- Gain exposure to construction methods and materials.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for project improvements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Strong academic record with a foundational understanding of civil engineering principles.
- Proficiency in basic CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) is desirable.
- Familiarity with engineering analysis software is a plus.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
