About the Role

We are looking for a Jr Cloud Application Engineer with proven expertise in building cloud-native solutions, modernizing legacy applications, and applying DevOps best practices. This role involves architecting, developing, deploying, and transforming enterprise applications across Azure and GCP environments, with a strong emphasis on scalability, security, reliability, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and modernize cloud-native applications on Azure and GCP
• Partner with cross-functional teams to define and execute application modernization initiatives
• Design and develop APIs, backend systems, and full-stack applications using Java, Spring Boot, and TypeScript
• Build and manage CI/CD pipelines leveraging Jenkins and GitHub Actions
• Utilize Kubernetes and Docker for containerization and orchestration
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and enforce policy-as-code through tools like OPA/Rego and Sentinel
• Establish observability practices including logging, monitoring, distributed tracing, and SLO/SLI management
• Ensure strong cloud security, governance, and compliance automation
• Support cloud transformation efforts using modernization strategies such as the 6Rs
• Contribute to Agile and SAFe delivery frameworks

Project Ecosystem / Environment

The work environment includes Azure and GCP cloud platforms, utilizing Kubernetes and Docker for container orchestration. Development spans full-stack technologies such as Java, Spring Boot, and TypeScript, with CI/CD automation enabled through Jenkins and GitHub Actions.

Infrastructure and governance are driven by Terraform and policy-as-code tools like OPA, Rego, and Sentinel. Observability is supported by monitoring, logging, distributed tracing, and SLO/SLI frameworks aligned with SRE practices.

• The ecosystem also integrates advanced technologies and practices, including GenAI (RAG, prompt engineering, model evaluation), AI-assisted development workflows, and responsible AI governance.
• Supporting systems include SQL/NoSQL databases, enterprise ETL solutions, Backstage developer portals, and React/Figma-based UI/UX frameworks.
• Delivery follows Agile/SAFe methodologies using Jira and Confluence, with additional focus on modernization governance and cloud cost optimization through FinOps tools like Apptio Cloudability.
