Junior Cyber Security Analyst with Security Clearance

Join TSA as an Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) supporting the analysis of system posture for system certification and accreditation. This position requires local residency or commutable proximity to NAS Patuxent River, MD, as on‑site support is daily.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior staff or perform functional duties under oversight.
• Collaborate with ISOO and ISSM to develop solutions, implement enhancements, and upgrade system architectures.
• Implement security categorization and control selection.
• Create, maintain, and update RMF artifacts for ATO packages.
• Define system security requirements, assess architecture designs, and support RMF authorization throughout the lifecycle.
• Update and assess hardware, software, policies, and processes for ATO compliance.
• Review and update Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms) for Continuous Monitoring.
• Perform required security testing (SCAP, Evaluate‑STIG, DISA STIGs, ACAS scans).
• Accurately review vulnerability scan and STIG checklist results and update as needed.
• Attend meetings requiring cyber support as necessary.
• Communicate cybersecurity and operations issues to ISSO/ISSM.

Qualifications – Required

• U.S. Citizen with ability to obtain security clearance (interim required).
• HS Diploma and one year of post‑high school IT/cyber experience.
• Security+ CE or equivalent DoD approved 8140 baseline certifications.
• Willingness to progress to advanced problem solving.
• Proficiency with Windows 10 and Windows 11.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Experience with creating and maintaining documentation.

Qualifications – Desired

• Experience with NAVAIR RMF Process.
• DISA STIG experience.
• ACAS/Nessus experience.
• eMASS, VRAM, DITPR/DADMS experience.
• Unix‑based OS experience.

Salary

$45,000‑$60,000 (pay transparency committed)
