Our client, a progressive technology firm based in Calabar, Cross River, NG , is offering a fully remote apprenticeship opportunity for an aspiring Junior Data Analyst. This program is designed for individuals eager to launch a career in data analytics, providing comprehensive training, hands-on experience, and mentorship. You will work closely with senior data scientists and analysts, learning to collect, process, and interpret complex datasets to derive actionable insights.

Program Overview: This is a structured apprenticeship program lasting 12 months, offering a stipend throughout. Trainees will receive intensive training in data analysis tools and methodologies, including SQL, Python/R for data analysis, and data visualization techniques. You will gain practical experience by working on real-world projects, assisting in data cleaning, analysis, and reporting. Mentorship will be provided by experienced data professionals who will guide your learning and development. The program aims to equip apprentices with the skills necessary for a successful career in data analytics. Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, there may be opportunities for full-time employment based on performance and business needs. Key Learning Areas & Responsibilities: Learn to extract data from various sources using SQL and other querying languages. Develop skills in data cleaning, transformation, and preparation using tools like Python (Pandas) or R. Understand and apply statistical methods for data analysis. Create meaningful data visualizations using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Matplotlib/Seaborn. Assist in generating reports and dashboards to communicate findings to stakeholders. Collaborate with team members on data-related tasks and projects. Learn to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in datasets. Understand data governance principles and best practices. Develop problem-solving skills by tackling analytical challenges. Participate actively in training sessions and team meetings. Requirements: A strong aptitude for numbers and analytical thinking. A Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related discipline. Basic understanding of programming concepts is an advantage but not strictly required. High level of motivation, eagerness to learn, and a proactive attitude. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Good communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting. Must be legally eligible to work in Nigeria. Based in or willing to relocate to proximity for occasional in-person meetings (though the role is primarily remote).
