  • Working Hours: 37.5 Monday - Friday 9:00 am - 5:30 pm

Purpose

Support the delivery of trusted, secure, and high-quality analytics solutions within the Microsoft Fabric environment, contributing to Population Health insights, Chronic Disease Management (CDM), and Data Services initiatives.

The Junior Data Analyst works under the direction of the Data Analyst, taking responsibility for defined tasks within the analytics workflow. This includes report maintenance, data quality checking, dataset preparation, and documentation, while developing the skills and knowledge needed to take on greater independence over time.

This role is not limited to running existing reports. It is expected to develop into a position of broader contribution, with increasing ownership of analytics tasks as competence and understanding of the healthcare data environment grows.

Success Outcomes

Core Responsibilities:

Microsoft Fabric Analytics Support

  • Assist in building and maintaining reports, dashboards, and datasets within the Microsoft Fabric environment
  • Support the development and testing of semantic models and data transformations under the direction of the Data Analyst
  • Run scheduled pipeline checks and report refresh monitoring, escalating failures as required
  • Operate within agreed Fabric architecture, capacity constraints, and operational standards at all times
  • Develop familiarity with the platform environment and contribute to its effective day-to-day operation

Population Health Analytics

  • Maintain and refresh population-level dashboards and datasets in line with agreed schedules
  • Assist in producing consistent metrics and trend data relating to patient cohorts, activity, outcomes, and service utilisation
  • Support the preparation of comparable reporting outputs across practices and regions
  • Flag anomalies or unexpected results in population health outputs and escalate to the Data Analyst
  • Develop an understanding of population health concepts and the clinical context behind the data over time

Chronic Disease Management (CDM) Analytics

  • Assist in maintaining CDM datasets, dashboards, and performance indicators
  • Support the preparation of data extracts and summaries relating to chronic condition monitoring, activity, and outcomes
  • Assist in applying CDM definitions and reporting logic as defined by the Data Analyst and clinical stakeholders
  • Ensure CDM outputs are produced accurately, on schedule, and documented clearly

Data Services & Research Support

  • Assist in preparing curated datasets for Data Services initiatives and approved research partners
  • Apply data minimisation principles and de-identification requirements as directed, in line with GDPR and data sharing agreements
  • Maintain clear documentation of data sources, transformations, and limitations for any research datasets worked on
  • Escalate any uncertainty around data sharing approvals or access controls to the Data Analyst before proceeding

Data Quality, Governance & Compliance

  • Run data quality checks on source data and analytics outputs, identifying and documenting anomalies
  • Escalate data quality issues or source system problems to the Data Analyst promptly and with sufficient detail
  • Handle all healthcare and patient data in accordance with GDPR, NIS2, and internal data governance standards
  • Apply least-privilege access principles to any analytics assets accessed or maintained
  • Support audits and information requests by providing accurate, traceable evidence for work undertaken

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

  • Respond to routine reporting requests from internal stakeholders in a timely and accurate manner
  • Communicate clearly when data is unavailable, incomplete, or requires further validation before use
  • Explain outputs and their limitations clearly to non-technical colleagues, with support from the Data Analyst where needed
  • Escalate stakeholder requests that fall outside agreed scope or raise data governance concerns

Continuous Improvement & Documentation

  • Create and maintain clear documentation for datasets, reports, and processes within the scope of the role
  • Identify opportunities to reduce manual effort and contribute ideas for process improvement
  • Actively develop skills in Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, SQL, and DAX, and apply learning to live work
  • Stay current with relevant platform updates and flag relevant developments to the Data Analyst
  • Contribute to the long-term analytics capability of Centric Health by building knowledge and applying it consistently

  • Prioritisation of own day-to-day tasks within commitments agreed with the Data Analyst
  • Routine data quality checks and the documentation of findings
  • Minor formatting or presentation changes to existing reports where these do not affect logic or output

  • Any changes to dataset logic, transformation rules, or report definitions
  • Requests involving data access, data sharing, or outputs for external use
  • New or ad hoc requests from stakeholders that fall outside established routines
  • Fabric capacity, performance, or cost-related observations

Must Escalate

  • Data quality issues with potential impact on clinical, operational, or research decision-making
  • Suspected data breaches, inappropriate access, or anything that may constitute a GDPR incident
  • Pipeline or platform failures that cannot be resolved within the scope of the role
  • Conflicting instructions or requirements that cannot be resolved without Data Analyst input

Boundaries

  • Does not provide Service Desk or end-user IT support
  • Does not approve data sharing or grant data access without sign-off from the Data Analyst and governance stakeholders
  • Does not make changes to dataset logic, transformation rules, or platform architecture without direction
  • Does not define IT security policy or data governance standards
  • Does not own IT operational tasks
