About the role
Our client is actively seeking an ambitious and analytical Junior Data Analyst to join their growing Business Intelligence team. This is an exceptional entry-level opportunity for recent graduates passionate about data, analytics, and leveraging insights to drive business decisions. You will work under the guidance of senior analysts, learning to collect, clean, analyze, and interpret complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable business insights. The role will involve using various data analysis tools and techniques to support reporting, dashboard creation, and data-driven storytelling. A key aspect of this role will be to develop a strong foundational understanding of business operations through hands-on experience.
Key Responsibilities: Assist in collecting and consolidating data from various sources (databases, spreadsheets, APIs). Perform data cleaning and pre-processing to ensure data accuracy and integrity. Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies. Support the creation and maintenance of business intelligence dashboards and reports using BI tools. Assist in the development of data visualizations that effectively communicate findings. Collaborate with senior analysts and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and reporting needs. Help in the preparation of ad-hoc reports and analyses as requested. Learn and apply statistical methods and techniques for data analysis. Document data sources, methodologies, and findings. Contribute to maintaining data quality standards and data governance practices. Participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance analytical skills. Assist in testing and validating data outputs and reports. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related quantitative field. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions (e.g., PivotTables, VLOOKUPs). Familiarity with SQL for data querying and manipulation. Basic understanding of data visualization principles and tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Eagerness to learn and develop technical and analytical skills. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Must be based in or willing to relocate to Yola, Adamawa, NG .
