Our client is looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Junior Data Analyst Intern to join their growing team. This internship offers a fantastic opportunity for a recent graduate or current student to gain hands‑on experience in data analysis, reporting, and business intelligence within a fast‑paced environment. You will work closely with experienced data professionals to support various data‑driven initiatives and contribute to actionable insights. This role will involve a hybrid work schedule, combining remote work with some in‑office presence in Owerri, Imo, NG.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in collecting, cleaning, and pre‑processing large datasets from various sources.
- Perform exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
- Support the development and maintenance of dashboards and reports using tools like Power BI or Tableau.
- Collaborate with team members to understand data requirements and translate them into analytical tasks.
- Contribute to the documentation of data processes, methodologies, and findings.
- Help in generating regular reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) and business metrics.
- Participate in team meetings and present findings to stakeholders.
- Learn and apply statistical techniques and data visualization best practices.
- Assist in troubleshooting data quality issues and ensuring data accuracy.
- Gain exposure to SQL, Python, or R for data manipulation and analysis.
- Support ad‑hoc data requests from different departments.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Familiarity with data analysis concepts and principles.
- Basic understanding of databases and SQL is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is desirable but not required.
- Knowledge of programming languages like Python or R is an advantage.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt in a dynamic work environment.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Understanding of statistical methods and their application.
