Junior Data Engineer

Role Description & Qualifications

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Data Engineer to support the design, development, and maintenance of scalable data systems. This role focuses on building reliable data pipelines, ensuring data quality, and enabling efficient data access for analytics and business intelligence. It is well-suited for individuals with a strong technical foundation and a growing interest in data infrastructure and engineering best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in developing, testing, and maintaining data pipelines that ingest, transform, and load data from various sources.
• Support the implementation of data architectures, including data warehouses and data lakes.
• Write efficient queries and scripts to process structured and unstructured data.
• Collaborate with data analysts and other stakeholders to ensure data availability and usability.
• Monitor data workflows, troubleshoot issues, and optimize performance where necessary.
• Maintain documentation for data processes, schemas, and system configurations.
• Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with established standards.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of data engineering concepts, including ETL/ELT processes and data modeling.
• Proficiency in SQL and familiarity with at least one programming language such as Python, Java, or Scala.
• Exposure to databases (relational and non-relational) and data storage solutions.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms or big data tools (e.g., distributed processing frameworks) is advantageous.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate technical concepts clearly.
