Junior Data Engineer — AI Project

Introduction

We are building an AI-powered business intelligence system that monitors our restaurants, retail stores, and production kitchen in real time. It runs on dedicated NVIDIA AI hardware and uses Python, SQL, and large language models to detect problems before they cost us money.

We need a junior data engineer to work directly with the CEO as the first technical hire. You will write Python and SQL, validate data accuracy, and help build AI-assisted workflows. This is not a corporate IT job — it is fast, hands-on, and you will see your work in production immediately.

Duties & Responsibilities • Python — can write scripts, work with APIs, debug existing code. • SQL — comfortable with JOINs, aggregations, and investigating data mismatches. • Comfortable in a Linux terminal (SSH, bash, running scripts). • Strong attention to detail — your core job is finding where numbers don't match and why. • Honours degree in CS, IS, Data Science, or equivalent; OR 1–2 years relevant experience.

Desired Experience & Qualification • Experience with any ERP system (Acumatica, SAP, Sage, or similar). • PostgreSQL, Docker, or Streamlit experience. • Exposure to AI/LLM tools (Claude, ChatGPT, etc.). • Hospitality or retail background.
