About the role
Role Description
This is a full-time remote role for a junior MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) designer, focusing on U.S. residential code-based projects. The Junior MEP Designer will be responsible for producing technical drawings, collaborating with cross-functional teams, applying mechanical engineering principles, and leveraging computer-aided design (CAD) tools. The role requires attention to detail, effective communication, and an understanding of residential construction standards while contributing to the design and development of customized home plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare MEP layout drawings (HVAC, plumbing, and Electrical) for residential projects
- Coordinate systems with architectural and structural drawings
- Develop layouts that align with U.S. code-based design practices
- Maintain clean, organized, and professional drawing standards
- Revise drawings based on internal QA reviews and project requirements.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Technical Drawing and Computer-Aided Design (CAD)
- Understanding of Mechanical Engineering principles and Machine Design
- Experience in Research and Development (R&D) related to residential projects
- Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure compliance with U.S. Residential Codes
- Problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams
- A bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field is preferred
- Prior experience in residential design or construction is a plus
