Junior Software Developer
Digital Enterprise Solutions, Inc. (DESI) is seeking a Junior Software Developer to join our team of qualified, diverse professionals in anticipation of a future contract award. This full-time (regular) exempt (salary) position is 100% remote, with possible occasional travel required to support programmatic needs.

Roles/Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot software applications and information systems, including Office 365, SharePoint Online, and ServiceNow.
- Contribute to the software development lifecycle by implementing enhancements, resolving issues, and supporting operational readiness.
- Develop and modify computer code in high-level programming languages using integrated development environments such as Visual Studio, Eclipse, and NetBeans.
- Participate in software testing, documentation, and configuration control processes, including unit testing, change package development, and defect reporting.
- Support software development efforts for cloud platforms including Adobe Creative Cloud, Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, and OpenStack.
- Leverage understanding of Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and User Datagram Protocol (UDP) in support of communication-based systems.
- Maintain technical integrity through peer reviews, issue tracking, and adherence to defined configuration management practices.
- Implement and sustain software development activities aligned with Capability Maturity Model Integrated (CMMI) and Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) standards.
- Contribute to the documentation of design, implementation, and testing artifacts, and support collaboration meetings to gather and refine requirements.
- Ensure alignment with Department of Defense and Navy cybersecurity compliance standards.
Education/Experience Requirements
To be considered for this position, you must meet the education and experience listed below:
- Associate's degree in computer science, information technology, or an equivalent technical degree from an accredited college or university.
- At least two (2) years of experience in software development activities consistent with this position description.
Minimum Qualifications
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
- Two (2) years of experience in software development activities.
- Must hold one of the following IAT Level I certifications: A+CE, CCNA-Security, CND, Network+CE, or SSCP.
- Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to document and communicate technical concepts clearly.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- US Citizenship is required due to US government contract requirements.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance (interim required to start).
Preferred Qualifications
Candidates with experience or knowledge in these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:
- Hands-on experience with one or more of the following: Adobe Creative Cloud, Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, OpenStack, ServiceNow, or SharePoint Online.
- Familiarity with configuration management, peer reviews, and version control practices.
- Knowledge of CMMI and IEEE software development methodologies.
- Experience with defect tracking systems and participation in collaborative code review processes.
- Active SECRET clearance.
Compensation & Benefits
The compensation range is based on industry compensation data and/or position budget and reflects our commitment to transparency and fairness:
- The annual compensation range is $95,000 to $110,000, commensurate with education, experience and certifications.
- Other compensation may include discretionary bonuses, referral rewards, and spot awards.
- Full-time benefits include comprehensive health insurance (medical, dental, vision), Health Reimbursement Account (HRA), paid time off, paid holidays, life insurance with accidental death and dismemberment, short-term disability insurance, long-term disability, 401(k) with matching.
This position is contingent upon future contract award in Fall 2025.
