About the role
Your role in the team
- You are part of a dynamic IT task force in the car rental sector, working closely with developers with a strong focus on Backend and DevOps to scale and further develop our systems.
- You develop and operate our IT systems specific to rental cars (e.g., booking platforms) and are responsible for them throughout the entire lifecycle - from conception through development to stable operation.
- You are responsible for the development and continuous improvement of our infrastructure (Linux), including server setup, operation, CI/CD, automation, as well as ensuring stability through monitoring, logging, and ongoing optimization.
- You are responsible for analyzing and optimizing existing systems and processes, as well as automation with LLMs and through configuration solutions (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).
- You are in regular contact with other locations and departments to develop optimal technical solutions.

Our expectations:
Qualifications
- Very good knowledge of at least one programming language (e.g., Go, PHP, Python) as well as enjoyment of clean, scalable code.
- Interest in CI/CD, Docker-based environments, as well as monitoring and logging solutions (e.g., Grafana).
- You actively engage with generative AI (e.g., Cursor AI, Claude, or Jetbrains Junie) — both for automating development tasks and for the efficient development of new features.
- Knowledge of web and infrastructure technologies such as Docker, Nginx, PHP-FPM, MySQL (including backup/replication), as well as a basic understanding of networking (firewall, routing, VLAN).
- High willingness to learn and motivation to constantly acquire and apply new technologies and programming languages, as well as high self-motivation and discipline to see projects through to completion.
- Strong analytical skills and high problem-solving competence.
- Strong communication skills and a good sense for people to develop optimal technical solutions in collaboration with the respective specialist departments.
- Fluent in German and English.
Experience
- Extensive hands-on experience in the Linux environment as well as with configuration and deployment tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, or Chef).
Education
- Excellent degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Mathematics, Physics, or a comparable field.
