Junior Software Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking a Junior Software Engineer to help build and maintain the core components of the Cosmos Hub at Interchain Inc. (formerly Skip). In this role, you will contribute to the leading open‑source blockchain ecosystem by collaborating with senior engineers and engaging with the wider developer community. You’ll work in our supportive, in‑person NYC environment or remotely (within 3 hours of NYC) to drive innovation and enhance decentralization.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain core components of the Cosmos Hub.
• Write clean, well-documented, and maintainable Go code.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to implement new features and troubleshoot issues.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure high‑quality software.
• Engage with the open‑source community to help improve documentation and drive innovation.

Required Qualifications

• Software engineering experience (academic, professional, or open‑source).
• Proficiency in Go or a similar programming language.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Genuine interest in blockchain technology and the Cosmos ecosystem.
• Time zone requirement: Must be within NYC ± 3 hours for effective collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications

• Contributions to open‑source projects.
• Experience with distributed systems or blockchain development.
• Familiarity with the Cosmos development stack (CosmosSDK, CometBFT, IBC Protocol, etc.).
