About the role

Position Overview

Interchain Inc. (formerly Skip) is joining the Interchain Foundation as its main development, product, and growth subsidiary. We lead development for the Cosmos Hub, ecosystem, and stack – the leading platform for building sovereign, interoperable blockchains. We are seeking a Junior Software Engineer to help build and maintain the core components of the Cosmos Hub. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on open‐source infrastructure in a collaborative core team based in NYC or remotely (within 6 hours of the NYC timezone).

Key Responsibilities • Develop and maintain core components of the Cosmos Hub. • Write clean, well-documented, and maintainable Go code to improve the developer experience for Cosmos projects. • Collaborate with senior engineers to implement new features, troubleshoot issues, and optimize performance. • Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure high quality software delivery. • Engage with the open-source community, contribute to discussions, and help improve documentation.

Required Qualifications • Software engineering experience (academic, professional, or open-source). • Proficiency in Go or a similar programming language. • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment. • Interest in blockchain technology and the Cosmos ecosystem. • Time zone requirement: Must be within NYC ± 3 hours for effective collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications • Contributions to open-source projects. • Experience with distributed systems or blockchain development. • Familiarity with the Cosmos development stack (CosmosSDK, CometBFT, IBC Protocol, etc.).
