Junior Software Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst

About the Role:

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Software Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst to join our growing QA team. As a Junior QA Analyst, you will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products. This entry-level role is ideal for candidates who have a strong interest in software testing and are eager to learn and grow in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work closely with developers, business analysts, and other QA team members to understand product requirements and functionalities.
• Review and analyze system specifications and business requirements.
• Develop and execute test cases, test scripts, and test plans (manual and automated, depending on the project).
• Identify, document, and track software defects using issue tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla).
• Perform different types of testing including functional, regression, integration, UI/UX, and smoke testing.
• Assist in maintaining test documentation and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
• Participate in sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives within Agile/Scrum frameworks.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in QA processes and standards.
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and post-release validation.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
• Basic understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
• Familiarity with manual testing concepts and practices.
• Exposure to or basic knowledge of QA tools such as JIRA, TestRail, or similar.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Eagerness to learn new tools, technologies, and testing methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have):

• Internship or prior experience in a QA or software development environment.
• Familiarity with SQL and ability to write simple queries for data validation.
• Exposure to automated testing tools (e.g., Selenium, Postman, Cypress).
• Understanding of Agile methodologies.
• ISTQB Foundation Level Certification or similar is a plus.
