About the role
Introduction
At BSS Hochspannungstechnik, we develop smart solutions for one of the key challenges in the energy sector: understanding the real condition of high-voltage assets. Our focus is on partial discharge (PD) monitoring systems and sensors for power transformers, GIS, and other electrical assets, combining technologies such as UHF, HF, Acoustic Emission, HFCT and TEV. The goal is clear: provide reliable, actionable insight so our customers can prevent failures, extend asset lifetime, and move toward condition-based maintenance.
We are a growing, focused team (~10 people) with an established market position, trusted by utilities, OEMs, EPCs, and industrial clients, and supported by strong strategic partnerships. Our systems are developed and manufactured in Germany, with a clear focus on precision, ease of integration, and user-friendly operation.
We have built a strong technical foundation, are in a phase of strong growth and will now scale internationally. To support this growth, we are looking for a Junior Technical Sales Manager (m/f/d) who wants to build a career at the intersection of engineering and international business.
Role Overview
As a Junior Technical Sales Manager, you will gradually grow into a role where you help expand BSS’s international business in partial discharge monitoring. You will learn how to position technical solutions in real customer environments, support the development of international markets, and gain experience across the full sales cycle – from first contact to contract closure.
From day one, you will work closely with experienced colleagues and management, gaining direct exposure to customers, partners, and projects. Over time, you will take on increasing responsibility for your own accounts, partners, and markets.
Your Responsibilities
- Technical Solution Selling: Learn how to present our PD monitoring technologies and support the development of technical solutions tailored to customer requirements.
- Commercial Development: Contribute to international growth by supporting customer engagement and helping to identify and develop strategic opportunities across the transmission and distribution (T&D), and renewable energy sectors, and in energy-intensive, and high-uptime facilities such as data centers.
- Channel Development & Partner Support: Assist in building and maintaining relationships with international resellers and sales partners; support joint activities and gain experience in partner-based sales structures.
- Customer Relations: Participate in customer interactions and gradually build the ability to manage relationships with utilities, OEMs, EPCs, and industrial clients.
- Sales Execution: Support the preparation of quotations and tender documents and gain experience in commercial discussions and contract negotiations.
- Industry Exposure & Marketing: Attend international trade fairs, conferences, and customer meetings, and support technical marketing activities.
- Market Insight & Learning: Develop an understanding of market requirements, customer needs, and industry trends, contributing to internal discussions over time.
Your Profile
- Education: Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related field (recent graduate or early career).
- Technical Interest: Solid theoretical understanding of high-voltage or power systems, with a strong interest in applying this knowledge in practice.
- Motivation & Mindset: Curious, motivated, and eager to learn; willing to take responsibility early and grow in an international environment.
- Communication Skills: Comfortable communicating technical topics and open to engaging with customers and partners.
- Working Style: Structured, proactive, and reliable, with a hands-on approach.
- Mobility & Language: Willingness to travel internationally (~40%); fluent in English and German.
