About the role
Position Summary
Verve, LLC is seeking a Junior Technical Writer responsible for developing clear, concise, and actionable healthcare communications and technical documentation. This role translates complex healthcare program findings, technical data, and clinical models into user-friendly resources and professional deliverables tailored for health centers, community stakeholders, and client audiences. The ideal candidate will support the creation of high-quality dissemination materials that communicate program outcomes, best practices, and technical information effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, edit, and refine a variety of program and dissemination materials, including newsletters, resource guides, fact sheets, FAQs, reports, presentations, and data reporting tools.
- Assist in developing case studies, technical reports, and project toolkits that compile program outcomes, emerging best practices, and healthcare findings.
- Translate technical, clinical, and programmatic information into clear, audience-focused content aligned with federal Plain Language Guidelines and readability standards.
- Coordinate and format graphics, charts, tables, and other data visualizations to improve clarity, usability, and presentation quality.
- Prepare and review digital documents with accessibility in mind, supporting Section 508 compliance and federal accessibility standards.
- Review materials for accuracy, consistency, formatting, grammar, and adherence to project, client, and branding requirements.
- Follow established branding guidelines, including stylescapes, typography, formatting, and layout standards across all deliverables.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.
- 1–3 years of technical writing, communications, or professional editing experience, preferably in healthcare, public health, or federal contracting environments.
- Strong written communication, editing, proofreading, and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to synthesize complex technical and clinical information into clear, accessible content for diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and collaborative document management platforms.
- Familiarity with federal documentation standards, Plain Language Guidelines, and Section 508 accessibility requirements preferred.
