About the role
Our client, a leading distributor of fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), is looking for a dynamic and results-driven Key Account Executive to join their team in Benin City, Edo, NG . This critical role focuses on managing and nurturing relationships with major retail partners, driving sales growth, and ensuring optimal product placement and market share. The ideal candidate will possess strong negotiation skills, a deep understanding of the FMCG market, and a proven ability to achieve sales targets. This position requires a dedicated professional who can effectively represent the company and build lasting partnerships.
Key Responsibilities: Manage and grow sales revenue from a portfolio of key retail accounts. Develop and execute strategic account plans to achieve sales and distribution objectives. Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key stakeholders within client organizations. Negotiate pricing, promotional activities, and shelf space agreements. Analyze sales data and market trends to identify opportunities and challenges. Ensure timely order processing, product delivery, and inventory management for key accounts. Collaborate with marketing and operations teams to develop and implement effective sales strategies and promotions. Conduct regular business reviews with accounts to track performance and identify areas for growth. Present new products and marketing initiatives to key accounts. Resolve customer issues and complaints promptly and effectively. Stay abreast of competitor activities and market dynamics within the FMCG sector. Achieve and exceed assigned sales targets and key performance indicators. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related field. Minimum of 4 years of experience in sales, with a strong focus on Key Account Management within the FMCG industry. Proven track record of successfully managing large retail accounts and exceeding sales targets. Excellent negotiation, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Strong understanding of retail dynamics, trade marketing, and distribution channels. Proficiency in using CRM software and MS Office Suite, especially Excel for data analysis. Ability to analyze sales data and translate insights into actionable strategies. Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to travel as required to meet with clients and attend industry events.
