At SBB Cargo, you are at the heart of the Swiss economy, bringing more goods climate-friendly to the rails. SBB Cargo transports 185,000 tons daily, relieving the road of 15,000 truck journeys per day, and saving the environment 460,000 tons of CO2 annually. In the construction and steel industry focus, you will shape the freight transport of the future and contribute directly to the success of our customers.

What you can achieve

  • You gain new customers in the construction and steel industries and develop the business with your existing key account portfolio to transport more goods climate-friendly by rail.
  • With proactive support of your portfolio, you identify additional needs and develop tailor-made rail logistics solutions for them.
  • In tender and bidding processes, you independently negotiate framework agreements, prices, and services and successfully conclude deals.
  • Together with internal partners, you coordinate operational implementation and support new projects from idea to realization.
  • Based on analyses of traffic flows, customer needs, and market trends, you derive measures for customer retention and acquisition of new customers.
  • With your holistic view, you contribute to the further development of our service portfolio for construction and steel and ensure close integration with production and sales.

What you bring

  • You communicate clearly, bring together different interests, and achieve viable solutions.
  • In demanding customer situations, you demonstrate negotiation skills and appropriate assertiveness.
  • With analytical and strategic thinking, you recognize potential and translate it into marketable offers.
  • You have several years of experience in Key Account Management, ideally in freight transport, logistics, construction, or the steel industry, and you understand rail transport such as wagonload traffic, construction site logistics, and intermodal transport.
  • You have completed higher education at a College of Higher Education, University of Applied Sciences, or University in Business Administration, Logistics, or Transport, or have an equivalent qualification, and you are willing to travel within Switzerland.
  • You are fluent in German and French at C2 level and ideally have a working knowledge of Italian or English at A2 level.
