DevOps Engineer

About

We are seeking a seasoned DevOps Engineer to bridge the gap between infrastructure management and application deployment, specializing in running Avaloq software on Kubernetes. The ideal candidate will use Terraform to manage infrastructure and deploy Avaloq services, focusing on automation, stability, and cloud optimization.

Key Responsibilities

• Terraform Automation: Write, maintain, and execute Terraform modules to provision and manage cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) supporting Kubernetes.
• Kubernetes Deployment: Deploy and manage Avaloq application containers using Kubernetes (k8s), managing resources, configurations, and scaling policies.
• Avaloq Integration: Deploy, configure, and maintain Avaloq containerized services, ensuring high availability and performance in a containerized environment.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Treat infrastructure as code, ensuring all infrastructure changes are version-controlled, tested, and automated.
• CI/CD Pipelines: Build, automate, and optimize CI/CD pipelines to deploy Avaloq application changes seamlessly using tools like Jenkins, ArgoCD, or GitLab CI.
• Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Implement monitoring and logging solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack) to troubleshoot Kubernetes deployments and Avaloq application performance.
• Security: Ensure secure deployment practices, managing secrets, service accounts, and network policies within Kubernetes.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Experience: 3+ years in DevOps roles, with strong experience in deploying complex applications to Kubernetes.
• Infrastructure as Code: Expert knowledge of Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and lifecycle management.
• Container Orchestration: Strong, hands-on experience with Kubernetes (AKS, EKS, GKE, or self-hosted).
• Avaloq Experience: Experience deploying and maintaining Avaloq Banking Systems in a Docker/Kubernetes environment.
• Scripting: Proficient in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) for automation.
• Tools: Proficient with Docker, Helm, git, and CI/CD tools.
• Cloud Proficiency: Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS/Azure/GCP).

Preferred Qualifications

• Avaloq certification or equivalent experience in banking technology.
• Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA).
• Experience with GitOps methodologies.
