Kubernetes Engineer | Delivering Real Systems into Banking Environments
TMS Technology
About the role
About
We are working with a highly specialised software company operating in the financial sector, delivering complex, real-time systems used by banks and financial institutions across Europe. This is not a “platform only” role. This is about getting software running in the real world.
The Role
You will be part of a team responsible for delivering and supporting software deployments across a variety of environments, including:
- Cloud environments (AWS, Azure)
- Air-gapped and security-constrained banking setups
Each client environment is different. Your role is to make it work. That means:
- Understanding client setups
- Troubleshooting deeply when things break
What You’ll Be Doing
- Deploying and configuring applications using Kubernetes and Helm
- Supporting complex client environments across multiple K8s versions and architectures
- Troubleshooting issues across networking, storage, and workloads
- Working closely with clients to guide and support deployments
- Analysing logs, debugging failures, and improving reliability
- Contributing to improvements in deployment processes and tooling
What They’re Looking For
- Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes in real environments
- Solid experience with Helm and Helm chart customisation
- Good understanding of Docker and container lifecycle
- Experience troubleshooting using kubectl, logs, metrics
- Exposure to tools such as Terraform, ArgoCD, GitLab CI or similar
- Comfortable working across on-prem and cloud environments
What Makes This Different
- You are not just building platforms, you are delivering into live banking environments
- High ownership, you will be the person solving real problems, not passing them on
- Exposure to a wide range of Kubernetes setups, not just one standardised platform
- Work sits at the intersection of software, infrastructure, and real-world delivery
Who This Suits
- DevOps / SRE engineers who enjoy deep technical problem solving
- Engineers who want to move beyond internal platforms into client-facing delivery
- Kubernetes engineers who want to work on complex, non-standard environments
Office location
Fribourg - 2 days a week on-site, 3 days WFH
If you enjoy figuring things out, working close to real users, and going deep into Kubernetes when it matters, this is the kind of role where you’ll thrive.
