Job Title: L2 SQL Server Database Engineer

Job Location: Phoenix, AZ | Onsite 5 days a week

Shift: 6AM to 3PM

Description:

AgreeYa is a global Systems Integrator and is seeking an L2 SQL Server Database Engineer to join our growing team. We are looking for a SQL Server Database Engineer to provide database platform-level support for MS SQL Server environments.

Job Responsibilities • Provide database platform-level support for MS SQL Server environments. • Manage databases at the infrastructure level, including patching, upgrades, and participation in DR exercises. • Monitor and troubleshoot SQL Server systems, quickly resolving infrastructure and production issues. • Establish and maintain high availability and disaster recovery (HADR) solutions using technologies such as Always On and Mirroring. • Coordinate and resolve database access requests, incidents, and compliance remediation tasks. • Analyze and report on database operational performance against key metrics. • Implement and maintain SQL maintenance jobs and backup/recovery strategies. • Participate in database cloud migration (Azure PaaS & IaaS) initiatives.

Required Skills & Experience: • 7+ years of experience with SQL Server Technologies. • 3+ years working specifically with MS SQL Server 2016 and 2017. • Solid experience in performance tuning, troubleshooting, and optimizing database systems. • Experience supporting databases in production and non-production environments, including resolving deadlocks, blocking, memory, CPU, and I/O issues. • Proficient in configuring and maintaining HADR solutions (Always On, Mirroring, Replication). • Hands-on experience with Azure cloud migration for databases. • Strong analytical and incident management skills in complex SQL Server environments.

Preferred Skills & Experience: • Experience managing databases ranging from 10GB to 5TB (VLDB). • Familiarity with database diagnostic and compliance management tools. • Exposure to capacity planning and automation of DBA activities.

Education Required: • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
