Land Development Project Manager/Engineer

About

We are looking for a Land Development Project Manager/Engineer to support civil engineering and land development projects in Northern Virginia. This role will focus on site development design, permitting coordination, and project management for commercial, residential, and mixed-use developments.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience working with Northern Virginia jurisdictions, excellent technical design capabilities, and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support land development engineering projects from planning through permitting
• Prepare and review site layout, grading, utility, roadway, and stormwater management designs
• Develop erosion and sediment control plans and hydrologic computations
• Coordinate with local jurisdictions to obtain approvals and permits
• Work closely with architects, surveyors, and engineering teams
• Ensure compliance with civil engineering standards and locality requirements
• Prepare quantity take-offs and technical documentation
• Support project scheduling, client communication, and design coordination

Requirements

• B.S. in Civil Engineering required
• Minimum 5 years of land development engineering experience
• Experience working with Northern Virginia jurisdictions is required
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and MS Office
• Strong understanding of:
  • Site layout and utility design
  • Roadway design
  • Stormwater management
  • Hydrologic computations
  • Erosion & sediment control
  • Pavement design
• Strong communication and coordination skills
• Comfortable working onsite

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• EIT Certification
• Experience managing commercial, residential, and mixed-use developments
• Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering coordination efforts
• Knowledge of local permitting and approval processes across multiple Northern Virginia counties
