The DAS for Finance and Budget is tasked with maintaining the integrity of all Housing-FHA accounting records and producing timely and accurate financial and management reports related to FHA activities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage reporting on FHA mortgage insurance programs nationwide, focusing on loan and mortgage insurance for both single-family and multifamily housing, including manufactured housing and property improvements (Title I).
  • Act as the agency's primary expert in financial reporting and the interpretation of policies, regulations, and laws related to federal accounting standards, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and integration with other federal and agency programs.
  • Plan and oversee the division's activities, leading initiatives involving financial management policies and techniques applied to automated accounting systems.
  • Supervise the analysis of financial data and application of internal controls within automated financial systems, including the preparation of OMB Form and Content financial statements and adherence to federal accounting standards.
  • Advise agency leadership on relevant programs and activities, making decisions or recommendations on complex cases and issues.
  • Utilize senior-level functional knowledge, demonstrate sound judgment and discretion, and maintain familiarity with the organizational environment and precedents.
