About the role
As a General Ledger Accounting Manager, your role involves demonstrating and promoting the company's vision, providing direction, coaching, and leadership to a team of General Ledger Accounting employees. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the standard operation procedure (SOP) for GL Accounting processes. Your technical accounting knowledge will be crucial as you will be hands-on with the monthly, quarterly, and annual close of books of accounts. Additionally, you will provide guidance to the team, develop/streamline processes under the GL scope, and participate in testing, verification, implementation, and support of release updates for the financial systems.
Key Responsibilities: - Prepare and analyze monthly key performance indicators, explaining results, trends, and opportunities - Make recommendations to improve the quality and efficiency of processes - Provide accounting assistance to Finance Controller/Financial Reporting Manager and respond to questions/concerns - Standardize GL processes across all USA entities and ensure group best practices are consistently followed - Coordinate with Business stakeholders for process standardization - Coordinate with internal and external auditors, provide audit support and explanations, and work with auditors professionally - Review and provide first-level approval of month-end reconciliation/closing of General Ledger accounts and sub-ledgers - Work on other projects as assigned within the Accounting team and review financial statements
Qualifications: - Ability to think critically and analytically to proactively solve problems - Strong independent decision-making ability - Knowledge of GL technical accounting practices - Ability to understand complex scenarios - Professional, detail-oriented, strong verbal/written communication skills, and a team player - Adaptability to changes in a fast-paced work environment and manage competing demands - Strong computer and organizational skills - Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies - Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude - Evaluate processes for improvements and recommend changes to the management team
