Your Role

  • Create agentic systems that drive Teradata's next generation of AI-powered analytics.
  • Develop intelligent agents capable of reasoning over enterprise data, utilizing Vantage capabilities as tools, and completing complex analytical tasks independently.
  • Design and build agent skills and plugins to enhance the Teradata agent framework.
  • Develop evaluation frameworks to assess agent performance.
  • Ensure the reliability and efficiency of agent workflows operating on Vantage.
  • Deploy agents that effectively resolve real customer challenges, achieving benchmarks in accuracy, latency, and reliability that exceed competitors.

Collaboration

  • Work as part of a dynamic team of AI engineers within Teradata's AI Apps, Analytics, and UX Engineering organization.
  • Report to the Senior Manager of AI Engineering.
  • Collaborate closely with Staff AI Engineers, the Agent Platform team, and Product Management.
  • Utilize Teradata's premier data infrastructure while shaping the future of enterprise agents at scale.

Qualifications

  • 3-6 years of software engineering experience, including at least 2 years working with production-level agentic AI systems beyond RAG pipelines or chatbots.
  • Practical experience implementing agent skills, plugins, or tools to enhance an agent framework.
  • Strong proficiency in Python; experience with Go is an added bonus.
  • Familiarity with agent planning processes, tool-calling standards, function-calling APIs, and reliability prompt engineering.

What You Bring

  • Contributions to open-source agent frameworks or LLM tools.
  • Experience in evaluating and benchmarking agent systems, including creating evaluation tests, gold datasets, and automated regression testing.
  • Knowledge of Teradata Vantage, SQL query optimization, or equivalent competitive platforms.
  • Understanding of vector databases, embedding models, and hybrid retrieval for managing agent memory and context.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • A passion for leveraging AI to unlock potential for teams, customers, and communities.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Pay Rate: 143500.0000 - 179400.0000 - 215200.0000 Annually.
  • Starting pay considers geographical location, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
