Our client, a prominent entity in the aviation sector, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Air Traffic Control Systems Engineer to be based in Lagos, Lagos, NG . This critical role requires a deep understanding of air traffic management systems and a proven ability to lead complex engineering projects. You will be instrumental in ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of the air traffic control infrastructure, contributing directly to the seamless flow of air operations.
Key Responsibilities: Oversee the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of advanced air traffic control (ATC) systems. Lead a team of engineers and technicians in the installation, testing, and integration of ATC hardware and software. Ensure all ATC systems comply with national and international aviation regulations and standards. Conduct system performance analysis, identify potential failures, and implement preventative maintenance strategies. Collaborate with air traffic controllers, pilots, and other aviation stakeholders to understand operational requirements and system needs. Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources for ATC system upgrades and new installations. Develop and deliver technical training programs for engineering staff and end-users. Troubleshoot complex system issues and provide timely resolution to minimize operational disruption. Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in air traffic management. Contribute to strategic planning for the future evolution of the air traffic control infrastructure. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. Minimum of 10 years of experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining air traffic control systems. Proven experience in a lead or supervisory engineering role. In-depth knowledge of radar systems, navigation aids, communication systems, and surveillance technologies used in ATC. Familiarity with CNS/ATM (Communication, Navigation, Surveillance/Air Traffic Management) concepts and systems. Strong understanding of aviation regulations and safety standards. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and diagnostic skills. Demonstrated ability to manage complex engineering projects from conception to completion. Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in relevant simulation and modeling tools. Experience with safety-critical systems design and validation is highly desirable. This role is integral to maintaining the highest standards of aviation safety and efficiency.
