Lead Automotive Embedded Systems Engineer

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and innovative Lead Automotive Embedded Systems Engineer to join their pioneering, fully remote team. This role is critical in shaping the future of automotive technology, focusing on the design, development, and implementation of cutting-edge embedded systems for next-generation vehicles. You will lead a team of talented engineers, driving projects from concept to production, ensuring robust performance, safety, and reliability. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of automotive architectures, real-time operating systems (RTOS), C/C++ programming, and hardware-software integration within the automotive domain. Key Responsibilities: Lead the design, development, testing, and validation of embedded software and hardware for automotive applications. Architect embedded systems, defining requirements and specifications in alignment with project goals and automotive standards (e.g., AUTOSAR, ISO 26262). Manage and mentor a team of embedded systems engineers, providing technical guidance and fostering a collaborative environment. Develop real-time embedded software using C/C++ and collaborate on hardware selection and integration. Implement and optimize low-level drivers, middleware, and application logic for ECUs (Electronic Control Units). Conduct thorough code reviews, unit testing, and system integration testing to ensure software quality and reliability. Troubleshoot and debug complex hardware and software issues in development and production environments. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, electrical, and systems engineers. Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in automotive embedded systems and propose innovative solutions. Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and tools. This role is based virtually, allowing you to contribute from anywhere, though we envision key team interactions potentially aligning with our hub in Abuja, Federal Capital Territory, NG .
