About Our Client

Our client, an innovative automotive supplier, is seeking an experienced Lead Automotive Software Engineer specializing in Embedded Systems for its development center in Hallein, Salzburg.

Your Role

In this responsible position, you will lead a team of software developers and be significantly involved in the development of control units and embedded systems for modern vehicles. You will be responsible for the architecture, design, implementation, and validation of embedded software according to automotive industry requirements (e.g., ISO 26262). Your tasks include specifying software requirements, creating software designs, code development in C/C++, and conducting unit and integration tests. You will work closely with hardware developers, system engineers, and project managers to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality software solutions. The introduction and application of agile development methods, as well as the continuous improvement of development processes, are part of your role.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for a technically savvy and leadership-experienced individual with in-depth knowledge in embedded software development for the automotive sector. Several years of professional experience in the development of control units, ideally with a focus on safety-relevant systems (ASIL), is mandatory. You have profound knowledge in C/C++ and experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and microcontrollers. Knowledge of relevant industry standards (AUTOSAR, CAN, LIN, Ethernet) and development tools (e.g., debuggers, compilers, static code analysis) is essential. Excellent analytical skills, problem-solving competence, and the ability to clearly communicate complex technical topics are crucial.

You will be responsible for the technical leadership of the team, code reviews, and ensuring software quality.

Your Profile

  • Completed degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or comparable technical education
  • At least 7 years of professional experience in automotive embedded software development
  • Proven experience in leading software development teams
  • In-depth knowledge of C/C++ and embedded systems
  • Experience with AUTOSAR and/or other automotive software architectures
  • Knowledge of bus systems (CAN, LIN, Automotive Ethernet)
  • Understanding of functional safety (ISO 26262)
  • Experience with RTOS and debugging tools
  • Very good German and English language skills
