Lead Aviation Systems Engineer

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Aviation Systems Engineer to join their engineering team in Bauchi, Bauchi, NG . This crucial role will involve the design, development, integration, and testing of complex aviation systems. You will lead a team of engineers, ensuring that all projects meet stringent safety, performance, and regulatory requirements. The Lead Systems Engineer will be responsible for defining system architectures, managing project timelines, and providing technical leadership throughout the entire product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities: Lead the design and development of advanced aviation systems, including avionics, power systems, and flight control systems. Define system requirements, architectures, and interfaces, ensuring traceability and compliance. Oversee the integration of hardware and software components, ensuring seamless operation. Develop and execute comprehensive system test plans, validating performance and reliability against specifications. Manage project schedules, resources, and budgets, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of projects. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of systems engineers. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, and quality assurance. Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies for potential system failures. Ensure all designs and processes adhere to aviation industry standards (e.g., DO-178C, DO-254) and regulatory requirements. Prepare technical documentation, including design specifications, test reports, and user manuals. Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices in aviation systems engineering. Qualifications: Master's degree or Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Extensive experience with systems engineering methodologies and tools (e.g., requirements management, model-based systems engineering). Proven experience leading engineering teams and managing complex projects. In-depth knowledge of avionics systems, flight control systems, and relevant aviation standards. Strong proficiency in simulation and analysis tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink). Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
