Lead Back End Software Engineer

Maximus is seeking a highly skilled individual to join us in delivering effective technology solutions. In this role, you will leverage your expertise to drive process improvement and support innovative software development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a subject matter expert in back-end engineering tasks, including design and development.
• Analyze, plan, and develop requirements documents while building functional models and procedures.
• Develop back-end architectures that support both current and new system capabilities.
• Engage in RESTful API development and modification, database management, and data model optimization.
• Utilize advanced analytical skills to support specialized studies and enhance processes.

Minimum Qualifications

• Active Secret clearance is required.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field; Master's degree may substitute for 2 years of experience.
• 10 years of software development experience with object-oriented and scripted languages.
• 5 years of experience in back-end web design and development.
• 10 years of experience with relational databases and RESTful API development.
• 5 years of experience in Python and PostgreSQL, along with database management.
• 5 years of experience leading software projects and testing web applications.
• 3 years of experience with AWS Infrastructure, Kubernetes, and RedHat Linux.
• Proficiency in at least five technologies, such as Postgress, Docker, Java, Ansible, and OpenJDK.
• Experience developing in a cloud environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with integrating data between unclassified and classified application deployments.
• 5 years of experience with DoW software development and Agile Test-Driven development.
• Familiarity with CI/CD workflows in software development.
• Experience using UX design tools and structuring data for machine learning integration.

Salary

The compensation ranges from $125,000.00 to $150,000.00 based on qualifications and experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
