About the role

Overview

Our client, a mid-sized Asset Management company in NY is hiring a Lead Business Analyst to partner with all business areas such as Trading, Ops, Compliance, Risk, Finance, and Technology to analyze, document, and improve the entire processes across trading and operational flows. You will also assess and implement new product innovation. This is a key role that will report directly to the CTO.
This person will be a strategist within the firm and is a key role as they transform and grow.

Responsibilities

  • Own requirements lifecycle from intake / discovery through sign-off.
  • Document and analyze complete trading flows across asset classes such as equities, fixed income and others from order capture through managing fails.
  • Document and analyze operational flows for things like client onboarding, account maintenance, reconciliations, and exception management.
  • Partner with Product/Engineering to translate requirements into solution designs; support sprint planning, backlog refinement, and prioritization.
  • Define data requirements and validate source-to-target mappings; support data quality checks and reconciliation logic.
  • Create test scenarios and process for production release.
  • Develop operating procedures and training materials.
  • Ensure controls and auditability are embedded in process and system designs.

Required Ǫualifications

  • 5+ years of Lead Business Analyst experience within a broker-dealer, capital markets, or brokerage environment.
  • Demonstrated experience mapping and improving operational/trading flows.
  • Strong knowledge of post-trade lifecycle.
  • Understanding of data models.
  • Hands-on experience in Agile.
  • Solid SQL experience (complex joins, aggregations) and ability to validate data across multiple sources.
  • Understanding of FIX and REST APIs.
  • Experience working with data warehouses/data lakes and BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with issue tracking and delivery tools like Jira or Confluence.
